The Science of Health

Although the science behind Chinese Medicine is extremely complex it all boils down to one factor, circulation. Every Westerner knows if circulation stops you die, and every Eastern doctor knows improving impeded circulation heals illness. If you go through an acupuncture chart and start pressing on the points you will feel some are painful and some are really painful. This pain is caused by a knot or partial blockage of circulation. It’s just like when someone says they have a knot in their back and they need a massage. One of the best forms of Chinese Healing is massage. The technique is like a deep tissue massage that incorporates pressure points to improve circulation and allow your body to return to a healthy state.

Circadian Rhythms

The West is now studying how Circadian Rhythms affect the body and control various functions, but the Chinese have already mapped out the entire flow, timing, and effects that they play. Traditional Chinese Medicine is able to pinpoint at any time of day what these rhythms are doing and how they affect the functions of different organs, sleep patterns, and even emotions.

Cupping

This Chinese Healing technique, though foreign and extemely odd looking to westerners has become envouge especially with elite athletes. The Chinese medical theory is the same as acupuncture or massage but the technique is different. And I would have never believed it if it weren’t for being cured of a month long back injury in three days. This method rather than pushing out blocked circulation like massage, sucks the knot out of the circulation path allowing circulation to be restored to normal. This technique is much faster than massage; however, the side effect is that areas that were blocked leave temporary marks of extracted fluid near the skin appearing to be bruises. The body then takes time to re-assimilate the fluid back into circulation. Below is a video scientifically proving that this technique only extracts blockages it is not quackery leaving random suction marks on the body.
